Farewell

Our school contains a tradition of giving farewell to the graduating batch each year. When it had been time to convey farewell to the batch of 2019 I volunteered for giving farewell to my seniors, I was within the decorations team. I was allocated tasks like blowing the balloons, cutting and sticking the ribbons and making other decorative materials. During the event, we had to try and do several tasks during a group which required synergizing, communicating and creativity.

LO1: Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth

For decorating purposes, we had to form lots of stuff with papers and crafts items that may make the venue look beautiful. During the method, we made paper birds hang them on the walls and ceiling. During the method, I realised that I was pretty good at Origami because the folds and shape looked perfect but I did take more time than others.

LO 4: Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences

It was an interactive experience on behalf of me. Work was distributed among many folks, but a number of them didn’t complete the assigned work on time. So it had been a little annoying to me but anyways we had to cope up with the deadlines and complete the work on time.

LO5: Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively

As there have been a variety of individuals within the decorations team, the work wasn’t targeting one person. The workload was divided among the people reckoning on their skills, which made it a touch easier for us to figure. However, some people didn’t do their work but still, the workload was still reduced.

LO6: Demonstrate engagement with issues of global significance

Recently, pollution has increased plenty. There was plenty of paper waste, empty glue bottles, plastic wrappers and other stuff. these items were lying everywhere near the place and no-one even noticed it, so I took the initiative to collect all the waste in one place so it is easier for didi to gather all the waste.

LO7: Recognize and consider the ethics of choices and actions

Since I was a kid, I was always taught about not throwing trash anywhere else but in the dustbin. When I saw the trash lying around, I did not like it. So my friend Vansh and I took the initiative and gathered all the trash at one place.

Overall, A great experience with lots of love and laughter. It first seemed like we were under-prepared but on the day I was completely wrong. Lastly, we got good feedback from our seniors.. 🙂
