Fs cup is one of the tournament organised by our school, where we invite other schools to participate in different sports like football, basketball, handball, table tennis, gymnastics, athletics, taekwondo, and gain a good experience playing against teams. As an appreciation, medals and certificates are also given to the winning ones (1st and 2nd position). In short, FS CUP is all about students playing their interest in sport to explore more and learn something, and not to just win.
Fs cup is even a platform that gives fountainhead school students an opportunity to be an apart of the organizing committee of this event and handle different responsibilities like, one handles all the certificates to be given, one handles the transportation, one distributes all the food coupons. There are two coordinators of this event from which one was me and other was Arushi, who helped me handling this event. My main role as a coordinator was to distribute responsibilities to each member of the student committee, make sure if they are working perfectly and completing their job on time without any last time conflicts. My main goal was to put everything on the place so that their no last time issues on the day of the event.
The Los that I was able to meet were:
- Lo1- I was able to identify my strengths and weaknesses very well. While working I faced challenges like sometimes communicating with the kids as I did not know their names or I had never talked to them, this states I need to improve on my socializing skills, and my strength was my punctuality and good management skills.
- Lo 3- A big event brings a lot of work, which needs good organization and preparation, which I had done because of which the event went successful.
- Lo 5 – Working with people you don’t know sometimes may be difficult, but I was able to do it. Working as a team made most the work easy as we had people to help with different jobs.
To conclude, Fs cup helped me learn how to organize an event successfully, and what all skills are needed to manage an event on your own (responsibilities). It was great and a good experience being the coordinator of such an event.
