Our school organizes an educational trip every year to various locations. This year our batch went to Mount Abu for 5 nights 4 days. As Mount Abu was at a high altitude it was very cold there. I usually can take low temperatures but the harsh winds were a lot to face. The campsite we were staying at was named “Scout Ground”. The campsite was huge and it was fun to be around, but the environment was dry and cold. We did a lot of trekking where we learned about different types of plants, vegetation and the history of Aravali. We spent a great time there learning about Mount Abu and visiting its city.
Learning outcomes I have achieved throughout this CAS experience:
LO-1- Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth
Throughout the trip, we did various adventurous activities like rappelling and rock-climbing. I was able to do all of them with ease as I had good core strength but when it came to cliff climbing I knew I was scared of heights and I was not sure I would do it but my friends tried to motivate me, boosting my confidence and hence I did.
LO-2-Â Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process.
As a sports player I tend to have a good amount of stamina, however, the trek we went on was exhaustive. I have rarely gone to adventurous trek and it was difficult to be prepared mentally and physically. The first day we went on the trek I was exhausted and thought I could do no more. Nonetheless, I learned what I could from the first day and did a lot better the next day.
LO-4- Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences
The trip was long and exhaustive but I was committed to complete all the treks included in our trip. There were 4 days and 4 long treks on our trip. But through perseverance, I was able to complete all treks
Throughout the trip, I learned that the most peaceful way to relax was to enjoy nature at its best. This was a thrilling journey and I personally enjoyed it the best.
