Home Workout

During this lockdown, I felt the urge to stay fit as there were no outdoor activities. As I am not a sporty person I didn’t know where to start so I searched some online workouts and found one website Cure.fit, I bought a yearly subscription which includes live full-body workout sessions and meditation sessions.

LO1 – Identify your own strengths and develop areas for growth:

Working out at home did help me to identify my strengths and weakness. I got to know that I needed to work on my stamina and on my core and legs. and after some weeks I was able to see some improvement on my stamina. After doing Yoga I got to know that my strength is flexibility.

LO2 – Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process:

Working out every day was a challenge as I am not very good at committing to a task but doing unique workouts every day was a huge boost in motivation as it was exciting to do something new every day. This became my routine after 2 weeks as I really started to enjoy working out, the only challenge was managing my time as IB submissions were there and I also had to focus on academics so I took off on some days to complete my work. Keeping junk food intake to a minimum was very necessary, as it was very difficult to eat healthy every day but slowly and gradually I was able to control my diet and started to eat healthily.

LO3 – Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience:

Initially I started doing workout alone but later my sister joined, so it was difficult to manage time as she had her work from home so the only time of the day we could workout was between 6pm to 8 pm, I faced problems in managing time as I had to change my whole timetable but slowly the new time to workout was comfortably adopted.

LO4 – Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences:

I worked out one to one and a half hours daily, doing every day something different like upper body, Strength and conditioning and yoga once a week. I only took holidays sometimes on Sundays. Initially, I took a lot of holidays but slowly I started to work out every day and now it has been 28 weeks and counting.
