During the quarantine, I need to do some physical activities which would allow me to achieve goals that I could not achieve in the cycling activity during the quarantine. I started to research for some activities online which would require less time but would be very effective in achieving the results that I wished. I found out a 15-20 minutes exercise that required minimal equipment and was efficient in terms of achieving my goals. The goals I wanted to achieve that I could not significantly achieve from cycling were an increase in the fat burning rate and core development.
Learning Outcomes Achieved:
LO1: Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth
I had Identified my strengths and weaknesses before planning for the exercise. It was important to know my strengths and weaknesses because it allowed me to plan exercise which I know allowed me to develop on the areas of my weaknesses and areas where I needed to grow, as well as it allowed me to take the benefit of the strengths, and plan accordingly
LO2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process
The main challenge I had was time management because of academic submissions which I overcame through my research skills, by Identifying exercises that were not very long, but yet were efficient. This allowed me to develop a balanced routine and achieve my goals.
LO4: Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences
As mentioned, time management was a big challenge considering the academic calendar. Though I found a efficient exercise plan of 15-20 minutes, last minute academic work may hamper the consistency of working out, which in turn may directly affect the final outcome and I may not be able to achieve the goals that I wished to achieve, therefore it is very important to be consistent, an ensure that I keep a time slot available for the activity.
