Cycling

During the quarantine, all physical activities including gym, swimming and cricket was put on a halt and it was important for me to do some activity that I enjoy and ensure some physical activity. As a physical activity I decided to do cycling in my apartment parking for at least a one hour a day for a month and 15 days from 15 of June to 30 July . The Goal was to ensure physical activity and increase my stamina level during the quarantine.

LO1 : Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth

I knew that I had not been cycling for 2 years and that would be a big challenge since I had lost practice.. Knowing about the challenge, I initially started out with going easy which allowed to have a better grip on the cycle and allowed me to get myself habituated. Knowing the weakness was very important since it allowed me to devise a plan that allowed me to be better equipped with time

LO2 : Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process

The main challenge that I was to be able to cycle for a minimum of an hour after cycling for almost 2 years. I was able to overcome this challenge at the end of the period and It has greatly helped me not only in terms of physical energy but the increased stamina has kept me more energetic throughout the day and it kept me from getting fatigued after exercises.

LO3 : Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience

I am a very organized person and I am in the habit of planning everything I do in a day, which allows to be productive and ensures that I do not mess up the work neither do I miss out on doing anything important. I knew it was no different in terms of cycling, It was important for me to devise a daily plan in regards to the speed and distance of my workout which would allow my body to recover and reach my goal on time. I did a lot of research as to how to start cycling in a more productive and effective way, allowing you to take full advantage.

LO4 : Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences:

To achieve my goal, it was extremely important for me to be consistent. I also understood the fact that because I was cycling after a long time, intervals and irregularity could easily affect my performance and act as a hindrance to achieving the final goals. It was more difficult to be persistent for cycling since I had been doing to physical activities since the end of March and it was very easy to give excuses to myself. However, I remained consistent in cycling for the span of 45 days and the results definitely showed it.
