Working out in home

I always loved to work as I was a sportsman but due to The IB diploma from grade 11, it was very tough for me to manage it with my academics. But due to COVID 19 pandemic, our entire country is in lockdown because of which I had a lot of time left, So I thought Why shouldn’t I be productive and do something that I love to do?” Working out at home helped me improve my health and my immune system.

I demonstrated LO1, LO2,  LO4, LO5

LO1-Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth 

So as I was a sportsman I already knew what my strengths were which were the core exercises and the lower body but my weaknesses were the upper body. So I decided to focus more on my upper body which was the area of growth.

LO2-Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process.

There were a lot of challenges that I faced as I wasn’t good at the upper body which led me sometimes to do the exercises wrong which led to injuries but slowly and gradually I learned these skills and now I am pretty sure that I have improved my upper body skills.

LO3-Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience

So firstly I initiated the plan, by making a 6 days module but the module wasn’t that good and effective because of which I looked up for some monthly challenges and I completed them.

LO4-Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences

I showed commitment as there were times when my body was aching but then too I completed the exercise by decreasing the repetitions or by doing something light. Also, I started working Out from the beginning of the lockdown which was from March and I still am doing the same which shows my commitment towards it.

LO6-Demonstrate engagement with issues of global significance.

In 2020 many people have Coronavirus which may even lead to the death of people. The doctors and the scientist suggested having a strong Immune system as having a strong immune system will lead to fewer chances of having the virus and fewer chances of death. So as I am exercising regularly my immune system is getting better, which may help me fight the virus.


I am very thankful that due to lockdown I am having time to improve my health and to learn some new skills. Working out at home helped me to achieve learner profiles like being a risk-taker, being balanced, Taking the initiative. These learner profiles will help me at any point in my life.
