comunity service

During this service, I was given an opportunity of teaching arts and crafts to underprivileged children including various ages for 6 days. This service was done in order to give those children an opportunity to explore areas that they usually are unable to do in daily life.

LO6-engagement with issues of global significance

This was an issue of global significance as in the current world many students don’t have access to basic resources for learning a skill, so this was an opportunity to give them an experience of art to make them learn some basic things that they can use in daily life, this also aligned with sustainable goal of “reducing inequality” and “quality education”.

LO1-Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth

This also, in turn, taught a lot of things to me including how to teach and understand students’ level of pace, as well as teamwork with other members and the students. Initially, the challenge I faced was to manage them and make them open up to us but gradually the process became easy and I ended up having a lot of fun.

This also increased my communicating skills, as talking to the kids and understanding them was of utmost importance and developed a caring and patient nature, this was overall a very interesting service that I did.
