{"id":7188,"date":"2020-12-16T05:11:20","date_gmt":"2020-12-16T05:11:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/classof2021.fountainheadschools.org\/?p=7188"},"modified":"2020-12-16T05:11:25","modified_gmt":"2020-12-16T05:11:25","slug":"guitar-learning-in-lockdown","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/classof2021.fountainheadschools.org\/?p=7188","title":{"rendered":"Guitar learning in Lockdown"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Because of my ACL injury, I was not allowed to play the drums, so I decided to learn guitar as I already had one,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>LO 1- Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As guitar was not an entirely new instrument for me as I last learned it in Grade 3, I already remembered some cords and how to play them. Then I took the help of some youtube videos to get even more understanding of how fingers move. I was able to play saregama in an hour of learning and was able to play most of the chords.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>LO 2- Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken in developing new skills.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As I had my ACL injury, it was challenging to play the instrument as my leg use to hurt so to overcome this; I played guitar alternate days. Also, my left hand wasn&#8217;t very used to playing as is used to hurt a lot, but taking 10-10 min breaks in between the sessions helped me overcome this problem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>LO 3- Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Because of the injury, I had plenty of time to practice as I rarely left my room. Still, I decided to make a timetable as I use to procrastinate a lot, but now I try to finish my daily tasks on time. It also helped me overcome my laziness problem and motivated me to complete my lessons on time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>LO 4- Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I practised around two hours daily for about a month, once I also decided to learn keyboard but I didn&#8217;t continue them because of my laziness.
