I participated in the community service which was organised by our school. It was a great opportunity for me as I love helping others, I selected arts and craft. We had to teach underprivileged students. Arts and craft is something I love to do, and I shared all my knowledge to underprivileged kids.\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Everyday we were assigned to teach them something creative and different. We taught them\u00c2\u00a0 pen stands, face masks, birthday cards etc. We were assigned to do the task in a group of four which helped me with team building skills.<\/span><\/p>\n

This activity helped me achieve LO1, LO2, LO3, LO5 and LO6<\/span><\/p>\n

LO1-Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth\u00c2\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

My strength was as I was good in art which helped me and my team a lot, i was not that expressive so while teaching them and looking at others it helped me to be expressive. It is good to first identify the strengths and weaknesses so that the planning becomes easy.<\/span><\/p>\n

LO2-Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process.<\/b><\/p>\n

The biggest challenge that I faced was the language barrier as the children were not comfortable with hindi or english so it was very hard for me to communicate with them. The skills that I developed were organizational as, leadership, patience, thinking out of the box.\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

LO3-Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience<\/b><\/p>\n

As we were priorly told that what are we going to do in the next class, It helped us to plan and organize things priorly, it helped us to be more efficient and also helped us to complete our work on time. It helped me to know that if things are planned priorly the job becomes easier and better.<\/span><\/p>\n

LO5-Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively<\/b><\/p>\n

As I said before that we were divided into groups, It made me realize how important teamwork is<\/span>. <\/b>It would have been very difficult for me if I would have worked alone as I would have to do all of the alone but while working as a team the job gets divided. Working as a team helped me to demonstrate communication skills.<\/span><\/p>\n

LO6-Demonstrate engagement with issues of global significance.<\/b><\/p>\n

This experience helped me to know the situation of underprivileged children, the problems they faced like sanitation, not good education. This experience helped me to share my knowledge with those children who are suffering with a lot of issues.<\/span><\/p>\n

Conclusion<\/b><\/p>\n

From this experience I learnt to manage time, how to be patient, leadership skill, being expressive and how to be creative. Overall it was a good exposure.<\/span><\/p>\n
